Raymond ‘Chief’ Seney, 86, died on Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at Cranford Health & Extended Care Center. He was born in Green Island, NY, and moved to Cranford in 1954.
Friends are invited to visit 6-9 PM Friday at the Dooley Funeral Home, 218 North Ave. West in Cranford. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 AM Saturday at St. Michael’s Church, Cranford. Entombment at St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.
He retired from the US Navy as a chief petty officer after 21 years in service, and then worked 26 years with Operating Engineers Local #825 of Springfield.
He was a member of the Cranford VFW Post 335 and the Clark American Legion.
Mr. Seney passed away on the third anniversary of the death of his loving wife of 59 years, Caroline M. Seney
Surviving are, a daughter Carolyn M. Walker; a son Raymond L. Seney and his wife Josephine, granddaughters Alicia Flynn, Christina Eavis, Rachael Pepe, and Nicole Seney; his great grandchildren, Brielle and Annabella Eavis, and Brian and Lauren Flynn; and his sister, Marion Collette.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cranford First Aid Squad.
